patchwork dress

patchwork dress based on original 1940s pattern. i was going for part vintage gypsy, part bohemian alice. and lo and behold, a caterpillar walks into the photoshoot! i might add more lace to it, and perhaps a belt. think i might experiment with stitching scraps together so i can make more of these for the shop too. looks lovely covered in sand for the beachy summers.

june inspiration

taken from Lime Crime makeup's blog

this last one is taken from Kime Buzzelli's blog.
She is an incredible artist and costume supervisor for 90210. Above all other things, her blog is what I turn to when I'm in need of inspiration. I have been following it for years and she never disappoints. This beautiful picture is from one of her recent posts about her wedding, and she wore the most stunning dress. Be sure to look at her work because its honestly fantastic.

None of these pictures were taken by me, they were all drawn from my inspiration files where I store anything I come across when rambling around the net. If you want to know where anything came from just ask.

teaching!

Guess what, I teach! Haha. If anybody wants to learn stuff about sewing and making awesome clothes, here I am:

Mega discounts for friends; will teach for pimms/buttons/chocolate/wool.

I am also to be found in St Lawrence's Textile Centre (a disused church FULL of vintage/knitwear/piles of wool/amazing designers- what more do you want?) in Norwich throughout this summer, teaching in particular, knitting, machine knitting, garment construction/sewing, and corsetry, here.

The amazing Anne Lavene, founder of St Lawrence and incredible knitwear designer mid lesson.

Lorna rocking the machines.

yum yum goodies.

Even if you don't want lessons you should definitely pop into the church because its incredible, we're on St Benedicts Street in Norwich, halfway down in...the big church. You can't miss us, opposite Prim vintage (and that has a polka dot front, so if you miss it you must be really blind).
