when i'm not sewing, i'm baking
probably my all time favourite so far. (even over my cookies). they have little chunks of cut up peach inside and whipped cream on top. this is what happens when I use a random number generator to determine what I bake from a book of 1000 recipes.
Now I love cooking and baking, and I can make a mean cookie or risotto (thanks to my friend simon's trusted recipe) but look at this:
Is this not the most beautiful cake you've ever seen? I made a dress for the lovely Jo this week and look at what I got as a surprise! Jo runs classes and the Living food Loving life blog and makes these delicious delights. I could make ten dresses based on the beauty of these two slices alone. I'm in love!
dusty costume cupboards
Clearing out dusty old costume cupboards at the Maddermarket theatre, finding bags of turn of the century stockings with lace detail, tights in every colour, hand knitted wooly argyle winter socks in moss green and bright red, moth eaten frock coats, wicker baskets full of top hats, victorian tail coats, and massive creaking trunks full of untold treasures.

etsy inspiration: things i wish i'd made
more bloomers in the shop!
2 new pairs of bloomers now in stock
floral cotton bloomers made from cath kidston fabric embellished with little blue rosettes with a rhinestone in the centre
cotton drill bloomers embellished with little blue bows with a pearl bead centre
Both now in the Betty Cox shop
Inspirations and sneak peeks of up and coming designs in the next few days...I have now finished my mega costume job here in Norfolk so can concentrate more on the shop and lots of new designs. Also currently working on a bespoke dress based on a pattern from 1939, pictures of the patchwork mock up and final thing in the next week!
